Nutrition

Packed with Omega-3s

Recent CSIRO research has shown that seafood has between 10-100 times higher levels of Omega-3 than beef, chicken and lamb. Omega-3s help prevent coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, and various other disorders. Prawns are naturally high in Omega-3s and six polyunsaturated fatty acids (good fats or PUFAs), and the King prawn is particularly high in Omega-3 DHA which is an important ingredient in assisting with brain function.

Prawns are also an excellent source of vitamins such as iodine (essential for thyroid gland function), iron (for red cell formation), zinc (for wound healing) and are especially rich in niacin (essential for healthy skin and the release of energy in the body) and vitamin B complex (needed for metabolic processes).

Excellent Source of Protein

All prawns are at the lower end of the food chain and eat leaf material, plankton and nutrients they find in the sand. They are so efficient at turning what they eat into body mass, that there is almost a one for one conversion of feed to body mass, resulting in you putting a lot of protein in your mouth.

No additives

There are no growth hormones, nor antibiotics so they are full of natural flavour, and presented to you just as mother nature intended.

No Listeria

Pregnant women, newborns, adults with weakened immune systems, and the elderly need not fear throwing a Spencer Gulf King Prawn on the barbie as no trace of Listeria has ever been found in the product.
